Damnoni
Damnoni Beach is located on the south coast of the prefecture of Rethymno, a few kilometers west of the village of Plakias. The beach is 600 meters long, thick white sand and turquoise waters. There is a part which is organized, offering umbrellas and sunbeds but also an unorganized part where one can make use of her own equipment. On this beach there is also a diving school for the lovers of exploration, while water sports and a horse riding center are available. Also, if one continues past the western end of the beach, he will find some small bays with sand and pebbles, where he can swim avoiding the noisy crowds, such as Amoudi.
The access to the beach by road is easy. Starting from Rethymnon, you should follow the exit of the national road in the direction of Spili. Then in the direction of Plakias you will pass the gorge of Kourtaliotis and the village of Asoma and you will reach Lefkogeia at the exit of which you will move towards Damnoni.
