Korakas is the first beach located at the exit of the now dry river, which passes through a steep gorge that descends from Mount Krioneritis. It is a long beautiful beach with fine grayish pebbles and wonderfully crystal clear waters, quite organized with umbrellas. To the east there are cavernous rocks, which in the past, the locals say, resembled a crow&#8217;s beak. During the Cretan revolution of 1866, Greek cruisers unloaded their munitions at Korakas beach.
